It&#8217;s about building ability, not just managing daily needs.<\/p>\n<p>Habilitation uses a range of teaching methods, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Self-help skills<\/strong> broken into small, learnable steps<\/li>\n<li><strong>Behavioral support and intervention<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sensory and motor skill development<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Socialization and communication skills<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptive skills<\/strong> for daily living<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The common thread is <em>skill-building<\/em>.
